Matka Polka -The Catholic Church plays a major role for many people living in Poland. Its influence on politics should not be underestimated and is omnipresent, especially for women. The situation of women in Poland is precarious. After the tightening of the abortion law, many people went out to the streets as part of the Black Protests. They were protesting for the right of self-determination over their own bodies and woman rights.

In 2022, the voices begin to die down. But the situation remains unchanged, and in 2024 the leading question is still: "How many more must die?".

The photographs were taken before the elections in Poland. Even now in 2024, with a new governing coalition, it is still unclear what the legal situation regarding abortions will look like in Poland in the future.
